BOARD OF DIRECTORS

President, Chief Officer

Ayah Shields is the founder and President of Helping and Healing Families, Inc.

She has a passion for promoting social equality and justice for the underprivileged and misrepresented.
She takes a particular interest in assisting misguided youth, and families affected by incarceration.

Throughout her time with this organization, Ayah plans to:

  • develop and implement programs designed to give youth an 'alternative' to a life of crime and despondency;

  • develop a support system and 'network' to help reunify and strengthen families that feel helpless;

  • provide information, resources and referrals about services available within the organization, as well as within the community, that could benefit our families.

Board Secretary

This position is currently vacant.

Vice-President, Chief Financial Officer

Shaunise Oliver is the V.P., and CFO of HHF, Inc.

Samantha Corbin, Development Chair

Myoung-Ae Jones, Director

Hailing from Busan, Korea, Myoung-Ae grew up by the sea and is very fond of Sacramento’s rivers and the oceanfront of the Bay Area.  As a political scientist she briefly taught at CSU Sacramento, after which she launched a Life Coaching practice to assist others’ self‑empowerment.  She is also a senior project analyst for a climate change research program.  Experiencing adversities in life helped her to develop a deeper understanding of the indomitable human spirit, the power of free will, and the power of faith in self.

Myoung-Ae believes that world peace begins with individual peace:  when the seed of peace within each of us germinates, it ripples through our interactions with others and into the larger society, its effects ever expanding to pacify and lighten the sociocultural atmosphere of our time.  According to this philosophy, serving HHF families to achieve inner peace and personal success are chief goals that Myoung-Ae aims for, here at HHF.  www.jonesempowerment.com
